Timeless Craft
Arjun Khanna’s fascination with timeless design and precision craftsmanship extends well beyond the realm of fashion. His Mumbai atelier is a reflection of this enduring passion — a curated sanctuary of vintage treasures including cameras, luggage, typewriters, and accessories. Among these, Leica cameras occupy a place of honour, embodying a shared reverence for artistry, engineering excellence, and heritage.
Leica Journey
A devoted Leica enthusiast, Arjun’s relationship with the brand is deeply personal and decades long. He has not only collected Leica’s most iconic models but also mastered their use with an almost scholarly appreciation. Over the years, his creative ethos has grown to mirror Leica’s founding values — avant-garde design, uncompromising quality, and an exacting attention to detail.
“My journey with Leica began quite unexpectedly. About fifteen years ago, I acquired an M3 through a barter. Unfortunately, it was beyond repair — but that encounter sparked a lifelong connection.”
Analog to Digital
Years later, fate intervened when he discovered the Leica M4 — the start of what he fondly calls “a true romance.” This analog experience shaped his deep respect for the tactile, intuitive beauty of Leica craftsmanship.
As photography evolved into the digital era, Arjun found himself drawn further into the Leica universe with his first digital acquisition — the M240. “The M240 holds a special place for me,” he notes. It marked his full immersion into the Leica M world — one defined by simplicity, craftsmanship, and an unfiltered connection to the art of image-making.
Signature Vision
Today, Arjun captures his street photography exclusively on his Leica M10 and cherished M9 — the latter renowned for its original CCD sensor that renders colour and contrast with unparalleled depth. For his fashion and editorial work, he turns to the Leica SL2, leveraging its power and precision to translate fabric, form, and emotion into cinematic stills. Most recently he was selected amongst a handful of creatives globally to collaborate with and experience the new M EV1 - Leica’s newest addition and first with an electronic viewfinder.
Leica has profoundly shaped Arjun’s visual language, inspiring his signature preference for black and white imagery.
“Leica has taught me to see differently. To recognise the poetry in light and shadow, and to embrace the elegance of simplicity. It’s more than a camera — it’s a philosophy. I’m honoured to be part of its remarkable legacy."
